Community Guidelines

TechLeague works because people put their real name and their employer next to their rank. These are the rules that keep that worth doing — who can join, what representing your company does and doesn't mean, and what fair play looks like here.

Last updated: 24 September 2026

This is written in plain language rather than legal boilerplate, because TechLeague is a community project run by one person and not a company with a legal department. It is meant to be read, not skimmed past. If anything here is unclear or looks wrong, email feedback@techleagueesports.com and you will get an answer from the person who runs the site.

1. What this is

TechLeague is an independent community project, run from Israel by one person. Creating an account means you agree to these guidelines. If you don't, please don't use the site.

Our privacy page goes with this one — it covers what we collect and who can see it.

2. Who can join

  • You need to be at least 16.
  • You need to actually work at, or be genuinely affiliated with, the organisation whose email domain you register with.
  • You need to register with a work email address you control. Personal email providers aren't accepted.

We make case-by-case exceptions to the email rule — email feedback@techleagueesports.com if you think you need one. An exception doesn't change anything else on this page.

3. Your account

One account per person. Look after your password — anything done from your account is treated as done by you. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has got into it.

If you leave your employer, update your work email in settings. Carrying on representing a company you've left isn't allowed, and it's the one thing that quietly makes the company standings meaningless.

4. Representing your company

Your employer comes from your email domain, and your name, rank and company appear together on public leaderboards. Two things are worth being blunt about:

  • You are not speaking for your employer. Taking part is a personal thing. Nothing on TechLeague is an official statement by, or an endorsement from, any company named on it.
  • Your employer hasn't necessarily agreed to anything. A company appears here because an employee signed up, not because the company did. Any company can ask us to remove its name and records, and we will.

Check your own employer's policies before putting your work identity on a competitive gaming site. That one's on you, not on us.

5. Fair play

This is the part that actually matters. Don't:

  • Register more than one account, or link a game account that isn't yours.
  • Report a result you know is false, or arrange a match outcome to move a leaderboard.
  • Use cheats, scripts, bots, or anything else that breaks the rules of the underlying game.
  • Harass, threaten or abuse other players, or post unlawful or hateful content — that includes team names, challenge messages and feedback.
  • Try to get at other people's data, disrupt the site, probe its security, or scrape it at scale.
  • Register a domain you don't represent, or invent a company that doesn't exist.

We can remove content, void results, reset standings, and suspend or close accounts over any of this. For competitive integrity we may act on reasonable suspicion rather than waiting for proof, and decisions about standings are final.

6. Riot Games and chess.com

Linking a Riot Games or chess.com account is optional and entirely your choice. When you do, you're still bound by that provider's own rules, and you mustn't use TechLeague in any way that breaks them.

We read publicly available competitive data through their APIs. We don't control that data, we can't correct it, and we can't promise it's accurate, complete or current — API outages, rate limits and expiring credentials all leave ranks stale sometimes. Treat a leaderboard position as a useful summary, not an authoritative record.

Chess duels are arranged here but played on chess.com. We can't start, host or referee a game there. Results are not self-reported: we read them from both players' public chess.com game archives, so a game that isn't in your archive didn't happen as far as this site is concerned.

TechLeague is not endorsed by Riot Games and does not reflect the views or opinions of Riot Games or anyone officially involved in producing or managing Riot Games properties. Riot Games and all associated properties are trademarks or registered trademarks of Riot Games, Inc. TechLeague is likewise unaffiliated with, and not endorsed by, Chess.com, LLC.

7. Competitions

Cups, seasons and tournaments are run at our discretion. We may set and change formats, eligibility, rosters, seeding, schedules and rules, and we may cancel or reschedule something. Where a competition has its own rules, those apply on top of this page and win on anything specific to that competition.

Unless a competition says otherwise, there's no entry fee and no prize. Where a prize is offered it is a personal commitment by the operator, not an obligation of any company, and it is paid within the window that competition's rules state rather than on the night. If a player's game account is closed or flagged for fair play by the platform the competition is played on, that player forfeits any prize — we take that platform's decision as final and don't run a detection or appeals process of our own.

8. What you post

You keep ownership of what you submit — team names, messages, feedback. You're giving us permission to host and display it for the purpose of running TechLeague, and nothing more.

Feedback and suggestions may be used to improve the product with no obligation or payment to you — and equally, nothing stops you using your own ideas anywhere else.

9. This is a work in progress

TechLeague is offered as-is and is actively being built. Features will change, some will be withdrawn, and the site will occasionally be down — for maintenance, or for reasons outside our control. There's no uptime promise here, and it would be dishonest to make one.

These guidelines will change too. If a change actually affects you we'll update the date at the top and say so in the app or by email. Carrying on using the site after that means you're fine with the update.

10. If things go wrong

You can stop using TechLeague whenever you like, and delete your account yourself in Settings, or email feedback@techleagueesports.com and we will do it. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these guidelines, where it's necessary to protect other people or the site, or if the service is discontinued.

11. What we can't promise

To the extent the law allows, TechLeague comes without warranties of any kind, including about the accuracy of any competitive data. It's a free community project, not a service you're paying for.

We're not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost profits, goodwill or data. Nothing here removes liability that can't lawfully be removed — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud — and if you're a consumer, your statutory rights are untouched.

12. Where this is run from

TechLeague is operated from Israel. If you're a consumer in the EEA or the UK, nothing on this page takes away the protection of your local law, or your right to bring a claim where you live.
